I use an AirHawk and it makes all the difference in the world to me. I have done 400 miles days with it. Before I was squirming at 35 miles. Not cheaper but a ride with a burning butt isn't fun. Technology is adapted from the hospital bed part of the company, they work to minimize bed sores from long term bed patients. Works for me. Factory, J. C Whitney are abot $200. Whitehorse Press had them for $150 at christmas time.
